Over 2,000 people have now been reported killed following a powerful 6.8 magnitude earthquake that struck Morocco with an epicentre 50 miles south of the city of Marrakesh. Many of the fatalities are said to be in remote villages near the Atlas Mountains area. Human Appeal is continuously monitoring the situation with our partners on the ground in Morocco.
Residents impacted by the quake spoke of the urgent need for shelter, food and non-food items in the immediate aftermath. Tremors have been reported following the earthquake with many sleeping out in the open air for fear of more building collapses.
Human Appeal is working with its local partner to deliver an aid package to the most affected areas. You can support the humanitarian aid effort to Morocco by donating to Human Appeal's emergency appeal.
