The Messenger (PBUH) stressed the importance of feeding others: “The best of you are those who feed others.” (Hadith Ahmad)
£90 – Provide a vulnerable Syrian family-of-six with 1.8 kilos of bread every day for three months.
Food crisis in Syria
After 13 years of conflict, a deadly earthquake, displacement and disease, millions of Syrians depend upon daily humanitarian assistance.
Syria remains among the world’s ten countries with the highest number of hungry people. 12.9 million Syrians - more than half the population - are hungry and another 2.6 million people are at risk of becoming food insecure.
Cases of malnutrition are rising as a deadly combination of rising fuel costs, devaluation, high unemployment and the spiralling cost of flour has devastated families, with the cost of bread soaring by 62%.
Feed a family every day
Be a mercy every day by helping us to provide a fresh bread delivery to a Syrian family every day for three months, starting today. Families with fewer than five members will receive one parcel of Syrian flatbread containing 10 pieces of bread (900g), and families of six or more will receive two parcels.
With your support, we can feed 6,000 people from 1,000 families, ensuring they have a staple source of food for three months. This allows families to spend any income on other essentials, and relieving them of the worry of affording bread, the cost of which has soared in recent months.
Together we can overcome hunger
Our bread project will help the residents of Al Yasamin village where we’ve provided long-term homes to displaced families. Each family received a flat in a building, containing two bedrooms, a kitchen, a bathroom and a living space. Each flat also has a small outdoor space and a water tank, and is connected to water, sewage, and electricity networks.
Our bread project will provide a family with three months of bread, giving them an economic boost, and helping them as they look for work without the constant worry of affording the highly inflated cost of bread.
To help a family to have access to bread for three months, donate today.
