For an entire year, Gaza’s children have been displaced and out of school. Support our education project in Gaza, and allow a child to recover their schooling, make friends, and have a sliver of normalcy in their lives.
£300 – provide a child with classes in Arabic, Maths, Science, and English classes for one term.
Abdullah ibn Amr reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Whoever does not show mercy to our young ones, or acknowledge the rights of our elders, is not one of us.” (Ahmad)
Psychosocial support
With your help, we’ll be providing classes in four key subjects to children across eight mobile schools. With 24 teachers from the local community, as well as a psychotherapist, the 600 children will have access to a wealth of expert knowledge. Each mobile school will be equipped with tables, chairs, whiteboards and learning materials, and have ventilation to help prevent the spread of sickness. We’ll also be providing mental health counselling and psychosocial activities to help children to cope with the trauma of the horrors they have witnessed and experienced.
After a year of conflict and displacement, Gaza’s 1 million children have lost their education. Our mobile schools will provide them with a space to make friends, have a sense of normalcy and routine in their days, while helping them to maintain and recover their education.
They’ll have the chance to express their feelings and experiences through art and educational play, as well as access to our psychotherapist and counselling sessions, helping them to recover and cope with the hardship they’ve endured.
In every conflict and crisis, children are always among the most vulnerable – they aren’t able to cope with the insecurity and are disproportionately affected by sicknesses and hunger.
Help Gaza’s children to recover a small part of their lives, and give them glimmers of joy and hope in their day.
